I do not know where March went lol. I feel like I blinked and the entire month just vanished. But I’m still counting this newsletter as our March newsletter here at PizzaYeti Makes. Today we’ll be covering some games, talking about creating in times like these, and recapping some of my content from this month!
This Month's Games!
On Stream
Leap Year: March DLC
I loved Leap Year when I had the chance to check it out last year. It’s a puzzle platformer where your character jumps too high for their own good. You’re tasked with collecting the scattered calendar pages as you navigate the world, all to unlock different areas and get through the month. There’s different powers you can utilize to change the way you interact with the world and it’s a ton of fun to figure out. Now, I’ll be honest, I definitely had to look up a video for help while I was playing the game lol. Some of the puzzles are hard and I’m pro-look up help when you need it in games.
The March DLC adds an entirely new world to the game. I think it took me longer to beat March than the base game. While there aren’t a lot of new mechanics in the game, it definitely tests your knowledge of the movement options and how to use them to effectively navigate the world.
If you’re looking for a great puzzle platformer with some of the best and most colorful vibes, you can find Leap Year: March DLC at the link below.

Naiad
I’ve been looking forward to Naiad for years. I love the art style of the game and it fits in with my desire for chill experiences that make me think about how I interact with the world. I’ll probably talk about Naiad next month too because we haven’t quite finished it yet, but I couldn’t wait to share at least a little today. Naiad takes you on the adventure of the titular character as they make their way downstream, helping ducks, frogs, fish, and a number of other creatures. You’re initially guided by Little Cloud who helps you figure out different ways of interacting with the world. There’s an environmental story woven into each level that showcases the impact that people have had on the world (it’s not great yall). There’s also a scary shadow monster who wants Naiad to obey them and I don’t love that vibe.
I’m eager to see where the story ends for Naiad. It’s definitely got a more somber tone at times and I wasn’t expecting that from this game at all. So be prepared to be a lil sad if you end up checking it out!

On My Own
I didn’t have as much time to play games off-stream this month. I did get to check out a couple demos that I’d been interested in checking out, though!
Trash Goblin Demo
I was excited to see Trash Goblin’s Kickstarter succeed a while back. While I didn’t have the chance to support it at the time, I’m a fan of this genre of game. It’s a shopkeeping game without a time pressure to get your inventory in order. You play as a lil Goblin who’s just trying to make it in the world. They’re focused on polishing up old trinkets to help serve their customers and find items that might be helpful for people.
The demo takes you through the basics of the game and introduces a couple of characters. It was a cute concept and I’m interested to see how it continues to grow in Early Access.

Spilled Demo
Lil boat games have a special place in my heart. Spilled lets you sail a lil boat around, saving aquatic life and cleaning up the ocean and surrounding lands. The demo is fairly short but gives a good look into the mechanics that make up the game.
The boat sails really well, and it feels good to help create a better environment for the creatures in the area. I’m excited to check out the full game in the next couple months! I’d highly recommend taking a look at Spilled, especially because it was made by a solo developer!

Creating In Times Like These
Make Something, even if it feels small.
I’ll talk about it a little more in the next section. But, in March, I made a tiny TTRPG (tabletop roleplaying game). It’s an idea that I’ve thought about for a minute, but I didn’t have the motivation to actually put words to paper. And then along came Fletch Fest. It’s led by creator FletchMakes and is a celebration of human-made works. You can make anything you want for Fletch Fest as long as you make it. The theme for this year was Warmth. And it was the lil push I needed to write out my lil idea.
And it’s small. It fits on a normal sheet of paper. But it’s mine. I made a lil thing that, hopefully, helps people stop and take a look at the world from a different perspective. In a time where everything is all on fire and moving at the speed of light, my lil game encourages people to take a min to just look at what’s around them and craft a story about what they see.
Thank you to Fletch for Fletch Fest. I know I’ve been talking about it a lot in the last few months, but it’s so important that we are creating and putting good things out into the world. As creatives, we help people have a moment to breathe. We help remind people that everything isn’t terrible because there are still beautiful things being created and celebrated.
So, when you can, make the thing. It might not get a lot of views or clicks or engagements, but what matters is you made it. You put something new out into the world to help build up our collective hope and that’s so important.
My Content for This Month
Big Adventures in Small Places
This is my lil TTRPG. The goal is to get you to take a moment to see the world from the perspective of a tiny adventurer while you’re out on a walk. Grab a camera, a 10-sided die, and your imagination as you go out and explore the world. You’ll take 10 pictures and then use those pictures to write a story about the adventure that your lil adventurer went on alongside you.
I’d love to see the pictures and read the stories that you write, so feel free to post them on the forum for the game! Let me know what you think about it if you check it out <3
